Dr. Elizabeth Baillie graduated from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles with a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy and has extensive training in orthopedics, musculoskeletal injuries, oncology rehabilitation, after surgery recovery, manual therapy, injury prevention, pilates-based rehabilitation and lymphedema management/prevention. She combines her years of experience working with patients and academic achievement to ensure she provides the best and most effective treatment for her patients. She is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist through the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy.
In addition, Elizabeth was the Practice Manager, and solo treating Physical Therapist, of a start-up Outpatient PT Cancer Rehab and Orthopedic Center in Los Angeles, CA, providing 700+ hours of direct patient care. She helped patients living with and surviving various types of cancer. Many patients were healing from breast surgeries including post mastectomy, lumpectomy, axillary node dissection and breast reconstruction. She provided patients with specific range of motion and strengthening exercises, lymphedema care as needed (garment selection and where to purchase, how to use, skin care and exercise instruction), soft tissue mobilization, monitored cardiopulmonary exercise, balance training and orthopedic injury assessment and treatment.
The lymphatic certification requires 135 hours of lecture, exams and hands-on training in complete decongestive therapy (CDT), which includes manual lymph drainage (MLD)/lymphatic massage, exercise instruction, skin care, compression bandaging and proper garment selection. She has worked for years treating patients at Providence Saint John's Health Center, Cedars Sinai Medical Center and Little Company of Mary - Torrance in the in-patient surgical, medical, orthopedic and outpatient rehabilitation wings. In addition, she has treated patients for years in the home health setting working on improving their functional mobility, safety and decreasing fall risk.
Elizabeth was the founder of another thriving brick-and-mortar Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapy practice in West LA called SP Physical Therapy & Pilates. She has worked over the years with private clients in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Beverly Hills and on the Westside of Los Angeles.
Elizabeth’s passion lies in listening to her patients’ stories. It’s important to her that you feel listened to and heard. She is dedicated to helping you understand what’s going on. Evaluation and treatment with a holistic approach. You can work together to determine the best solution for your functional limitations, weakness or pain. Getting you to feel better faster.
Elizabeth also studied vocal production >10 years as a musical theatre and jazz vocalist. When she is not treating clients, she is hanging with her family and friends, hiking, cooking, playing guitar or singing.
